GTK+ Theme Customization

Here’s a HOWTO for changing MaXX Desktop’s  GTK+ Theme, follow the steps describe below

1 – Change the default MaXX GTK+ Theme using the following console command-line

// Replace with your favorite SGI Theme
echo "IndigoMagic" > $HOME/.maxxdesktop/GTK_Theme

2 –  Replace the  GTK+ Theme name from the Xsettingsd configuration file found in your $HOME directory (using your favorite text-editor).  Look for the Net/ThemeName line and change

 <EDIT> $HOME/.xsettingsd

3  –  Run the MaXX Settings update tool to activate dynamically your changes

$ update-desktop

“A visual Scheme Selector is in the work and will be available in Indy 1.2.  The Scheme Selector will change both SGI Scheme and GTK+ Theme.”
