DR-3 Installation Guide

MaXX Interactive Desktop Developer Release 3

The focus of the Developer Release 3 are;

  • the switch to SGI-Motif 2.3.1
  • 5Dwm v1.4
  • a new version of gmemusage (2.5 beta1)
  • many bug fixes
  • the introduction of the package installer

It is wise to start with a fresh installation if you can, otherwise a Spring-Clean-DR2? procedure shall be provided to remove all traces of MaXX Desktop on your system.

As of today, only RHEL/CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu are supported Linux Distributions on x86_64 CPU architecture.

Prerequisite

# yum install xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-100dpi.noarch xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-75dpi.noarch

or on Debian,

$ su
# apt-get install libXp6 libncurses5

or on Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10 and 9.04,
